Mark fell in love with wildlife while growing up on a farm in rural Pennsylvania. When he was 11 years old, he started working at pet stores as a reptile and amphibian specialist. By 21, he, as Lead Author, published a scientific paper in the Journal of Freshwater Ecology. In tandem with his research, Mark began pursuing wildlife photography and filmmaking.
During his junior year at UCSB studying Ecology and Evolution, he and his student team produced a film on sea otters for the Blue Horizons Environmental Media program. The film, No Otter Zone, toured in several film festivals before Mark negotiated the sale of the film's rights to an international distribution company in the educational marketplace.
He now works closely with Wild Logic LLC's Managing Member and Producer Katya Shirokow and three-time Emmy award-winning cinematographer Rick Rosenthal, for whom he has worked on projects for BBC, National Geographic and DisneyNature. Mark is now working as Editor and Cameraman for the upcoming Wild Logic film, THE DARK SIDE OF THE OCEAN. Mark also films and edits promotional and commercial material, including work for the University of California and the Four Seasons Resort.
